about

How these two bands met is somewhat of an odd story. While on tour for their debut album launch in late 2011, Brisbane’s Nuclear Summer received an email from some dudes they did not know who wanted to jump on a jam room show on the tour. That was sent by Melbourne’s Stockades. Nuclear Summer hadn’t got around to lining up a support for the show, and without any recordings to go off, and knowing that they’d never played a show before, decided to take a punt. As it turns out, Stockades were killer dudes who wrote fantastic and like-minded music, and friendships were formed. Soon plans were hatched for a recording, and over the Easter long weekend in 2012 this semi-collaborative split became a reality at Sun Distortion Studios in Brisbane. It’s since taken some time to see the light of day, but hey, here it is. Enjoy. Sunshine metal is real.
